Investment Criteria
Timsco's inQbator program involves the access to specialised facilities (if required), advice and services from Timsco's professional staff, access to business services from professional firms, assistance in sourcing capital from investors and in building business alliances and strategic relationships.
Start-up companies who join the inQbator program also can gain a grant of funds from Timsco.
A company gaining admission to the inQbator program must be Australian registered and operate in Australia, and should meet most of the following criteria:
- produces new ICT products or services (equipment, software, content, etc) or products and services for which ICT is a key driver of competitive advantage
- typically is newly incorporated or only a few years old, and has fewer than 5 employees
- is led by compelling individuals who are both passionate and realistic about their venture
- has a general understanding of its market opportunity
- has clearly identified intellectual property that is protected or capable of being protected
- has the support of all its shareholders to execute its business plan
- understands its strengths and limitations, and recognises the value of Timsco's contribution to overcoming weaknesses
- is willing to provide a minority equity stake in return for Timsco's contribution of advice, guidance and services
